Today was installation day at gallery TG 27 at the Festival of Quilts at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. There is something very satisfying about transforming a blank gallery from this:
to this:While my curatorial assistant (aka my husband The Laundry King) was away checking into our accommodation with a nasty head cold, I did have help with installation. My job was to prepare the layout and get the works ready for the installation team. Three walls = three piles:
Laid out ready for hanging: Hanging in progress on wall 3: Making progress with wall 2:
There’s some signage to be added; the floor needs a vacuum; and the lighting will be tweaked but this gives you a fair idea of the presentation:
Come along to gallery TG27 (right next to the Fine Art Quilt Masters) to view the exhibition in the cloth. I will be presenting a curator floor talk each day at 11am and 2pm. This is a great time to purchase a catalogue too. See you at the Festival of Quilts UK. All welcome!
Looks fabulous Brenda. So exciting – thanks so much for these amazing opportunities.
